Catryn Roberts BSc Audiology
Microsuction Ear Wax Removal and Audiological Service
My name is Catryn Roberts and I am an NHS trained Audiologist. I graduated with a First Class honours degree in Healthcare Science (Audiology) BSc (Hons) at Swansea University in 2014, and I have been working as an Audiologist ever since. Through increasing pressure on the NHS and a reduction in services offered by GPs there is an increasing number of people who require professional ear wax removal. Old methods of ear wax removal via syringing are outdated therefore I aim to provide a quick, efficient and safe ear wax removal service via microsuction.

Counsellor
Hello, my name is Maria and I extend a warm welcome to Soul Source Counselling. I think most of us experience some difficulties in our lives which can make us feel stuck, often resulting in anxiety and depression. As human beings we will sometimes fail, do something we aren’t proud of, or accept people’s bad behaviour towards us. However, past difficulties don’t have to define our future. I believe that everyone has the right to feel happy and I’m here to help you find the relief and lightness that you may be looking for. I am a professionally qualified counsellor and I take a person-centred integrative approach which means that I can tailor the therapy to suit you. I am trustworthy and compassionate; offering a confidential, safe, non-judgemental environment for us to work together to explore any painful or troubling aspects of your life. We will work at your pace and there will be opportunities to review our progress to ensure that you are getting what you want from therapy.

Acupuncture
After many years working in Engineering as a Manufacturing Consultant, I began my journey into Acupuncture 12 years ago, following an injury. This led to my studying Acupuncture at the prestigious College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in Reading, allowing me to pursue a new career that gives me immense job satisfaction.
During the first face-to-face consultation, I will take a detailed history from you, and devise a treatment plan accordingly. If appropriate, other methods of treatment can be discussed and added into a treatment session. Time is then spent on the couch inserting the fine, sterile needles into the appropriate points; this will improve the flow of Qi (the Chinese name for energy) and promote relaxation. The needles are usually left in for approximately 20 mins. Patients often fall asleep here!
After moving to Wales recently with my family, I’m very much looking forward to meeting new patients and providing them with supportive and effective treatment. For more information, please see www.carmarthenacupunctureclinic.co.uk

Counselling Therapist
If you’re reading this, chances are that life has thrown all sorts of things at you, and that this has become too much: you may feel overwhelmed, or maybe you’re feeling stuck, not knowing how to move forward. The good news is that you’re clearly looking to do something about this. This, to me, supports the idea that we possess an innate drive to grow and to look after ourselves. Similarly, you may want to get more out of life – or wish to understand whatever it is what is going on for you – it’s all part of the same drive to move forward. I am a professional Person-Centred counselling therapist who aims to help you explore and understand your experience at a deeper level: to help provide meaning and clarity; to help you find a solution or acceptance for whatever it is you are struggling with – because everyone deserves to lead a happy, fulfilling existence. I am considered to be engaging, thoughtful and empathic. I provide a confidential and non-judgmental safe space to help you explore whatever it is you are seeking counselling for. Like most of us, my own life has seen its struggles, and counselling has helped me find clarity, acceptance and solutions for some of the things I found difficult to deal with. This is what eventually prompted me to change my career, and re-train as a counselling therapist – to help others on their path in the way that I have been helped in the past myself. What I offer: in-person therapy (I am fully covid-19 vaccinated and get tested regularly), as well as online and telephone counselling. My areas of expertise: Loss, Bereavement, Low self-esteem, Childhood trauma, Depression, Anxiety, Stress, Relationships, Sexual identity, and ‘Bigger Questions’ (incl. world views, faith/religion based issues).
Fees: My standard fees are £40 per therapy session. Evening fees are £45 and low-income concessionary fees are £20 for which I keep a few slots reserved. If you want to see whether I’m a therapist you could work with, I offer a FREE 30-minute consultation at a time that is convenient for both of us – online, by phone or face-to-face. Please check my website for more information.

Therapeutic Counsellor
Hi, my name is Nik Sutherland and I am a therapeutic counsellor working with adults and couples in Carmarthen. I am also a multi award winning drug & alcohol practitioner, certified laughter yoga teacher & a training provider. I have worked in many roles in drug & alcohol services for well over a decade and have experience of working at a low cost counselling service as well as a drug & alcohol recovery house. In my spare time I am a volunteer therapist with a children and families bereavement charity. Counselling doesn’t have to be a lengthy process that focuses on a person’s past and can be a way of working out where you go from where you are. I like to explain the process of counselling as similar to a train journey, in that a person can get off the train at any station along the line, either permanently or until they feel ready to get back on and travel some more. I believe that everybody is capable of change and that sometimes we just need to join in the collaborative process of therapeutic counselling to explore our inner resources and to equip ourselves with the tools to make change happen. There are many tools that I can support you with in the process of change and the main training that I have had is in the humanistic models of Gestalt, Person Centred & Transactional Analysis. I also have training in BSFT (Brief Solution Focused Therapy) and MI (Motivational Interviewing). If you prefer, then we are able to work together in more creative ways such as through percussion, sand tray, art or puppets.
Dr Alison Clare Scott -
Psychotherapist
I am an experienced, qualified Adlerian therapist, having trained first in 2005. I am a member of ASoW, asiip and BACP. I am registered as a Brainspotting practitioner, (“Brainspotting is a brain-based psychotherapy approach that uses the field of vision to find where a person is holding, not just the trauma but any negative experience, in their brain.” David Grand). I am qualified as a diagnostic assessor and specialist teacher/tutor for neurodiversity and all Specific Learning Differences. I continue to work as a specialist consultant in the field of neurodiversity (Autistic Spectrum, ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Executive Dysfunction), and have expertise in trauma and poetry therapy. Particular interests include: expressive arts, the natural landscape, spirituality, transgenerational and somatic work. My PhD, ‘Poetic Responses to place: Psycho-geography and/as practice’ uses a phenomenological approach to wellbeing through interrogation of and relationship with the West Wales landscape expressed through creative writing. My experiences in Sexual Health, Education, as a Social Worker, and extensively with staff and students in Higher Education at undergraduate and postgraduate levels mean that I am well equipped to support with a variety of issues. I have worked with mental health care since 1985. I am a Reiki Master/Teacher.
Graham Vaughan -
BSc. (Hons) Sports Therapist, MSST
I'm Graham, a graduate of BSc. (Hons) Sports Therapy which focuses on musculoskeletal therapy. As a fully qualified Sports Therapist I offer pain and injury assessment, diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation, and exercise programming to manage and improve these issues. I offer this to anyone with an issue not just to those in sport or athletes. Over the years I've discovered a lot of aches, pains and injuries can be managed, reduced, or/and healed with the right kind of attention. Whether that is through manual therapy or targeted exercise depends on the the client and the condition. Its often easier to work on an issue if we have assistance from someone and able to work through it together rather than going it alone. Through this we can facilitate a window of opportunity for the body to heal. My position is to help you look after your body so you can work, play and sleep without pain..
